Member Moment: John’s Story

Going green and being kind to our environment is a long-term commitment, not a sprint. Our member, John, kindly shared his passion about reducing the damage to our planet and we’re happy to be a small part of his journey.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I work for the Department of the Treasury in Portland Oregon. I own my home and have become more and more interested in reducing the damage I do to the environment.

What is your favorite USAgencies’ moment as a member?
I got a loan through USAgencies Credit Union and used the money to put solar panels on my house. Since I also own an electric vehicle, I now create my own fuel for my car!

That means I have virtually no fuel bill or electric bill from now on. That’s $150 – $200 every month that goes into my pocket!

The loan from USAgencies paid for my solar panels and it was super easy to get and my savings cover the expense. Now I don’t smoke up the atmosphere!

Member Moment: Janie’s Story

Here at USAgencies Credit Union, we uphold the Credit Union philosophy of “People Helping People”. We constantly look for ways we can make a positive difference in our members’ lives and in our community. USAgencies serves many members who are or have been active in the United States Military and we try our best to provide them with as easy a banking experience as possible with all of the traveling they do. So, when we hear stories like this one from Janie, we can’t resist holding our heads up a little higher!

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am a U.S. Navy Veteran and a federal employee, with 28 years, I joined USAgencies in early 2003 when I was working in the Portland area. I have since moved several times to several different states because of my job. It is 2019 now, I have never once thought about switching. USAgencies is like part of my family, they treat me like family, countless times when I call I am recognized just by my voice. Everyone’s Professionalism is beyond outstanding, in every department. I always hear a friendly voice, when they ask how are you doing, it is genuine, they really want to know how you are doing and how they can help.

What is your favorite USAgencies’ moment as a member?
Over the years, I have purchased several vehicles (bad habit of mine 😊) and each and every time, they made it happen for me. Even when I would first get financed through the dealership at a higher interest rate, they always worked so hard to ensure they could provide the loan at a much lower interest rate; saving me so much money and more importantly to me piece of mind!!!

Their security measures are outstanding, you can always rely on them to be there protecting you and your finances even if you don’t realize it.

What do you value the most about USAgencies?
If I had to pick one of the many things I love about USAgencies, it is for sure the staff there! They are hands down better than any company or agencies I have ever experienced, remember I am a federal employee and I work with many agencies, federal and state. I only lived in Portland for a couple of years, but I feel like I know the staff just as if I visited in person and they always make me feel as if they have known me for years. That says a lot about their passion, knowledge, professionalism and being genuine.

Member Moment: Brandon’s Story

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Portland, OR native that bleeds blue and white for his Penn State Nittany Lions. My family is the most important thing in my life and I always look forward to visits back to Portland to spend time with them. I am up for anything outdoors – golf, hiking, running, and snowboarding. I really like yoga and have found it offers a great way to build both strength and flexibility. It’s also fun to spend time doing yoga in a 100 degree room haha. I love following the Portland Trail Blazers (my hometown team) and enjoy serving on various boards throughout the community.

Your passion.
Golf and yoga would be up there with my passions. My Nittany Lions, Trail Blazers and traveling also are a part of that list.

What is your favorite USAgencies’ moment as a member?
Getting my account set up for the first time many years ago. It was great to be a part of an organization that cared a lot about making sure all of my financial needs were well taken care of.

What do you value the most about USAgencies?
The connection that I feel with the organization despite not having lived in Portland for the last 20 years. USAgencies does a great job of making you feel valued and appreciated – regardless of where you live.

Member Moment: Laurie’s Story

Here at USAgencies Credit Union, our biggest priority is your financial wellness, and that includes keeping you and your money safe! Our member, Laurie, shared her experience on how we made a stressful situation painless.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
 I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and lived there most of my life until six months ago when my husband and I moved to Nevada.

Your passion.
My passions are family and exploration. I love traveling and seeing new sites. As much as I love having new areas to explore in our backyard now that we’ve moved, we miss family and friends.

What is your favorite USAgencies’ moment as a member?
I’ve been pleased with every interaction I’ve had with USAgencies from day to day banking to getting car loans and getting financial info together for home loans. My favorite moment was the way USAgencies treated me when my debit card number was stolen years ago. USAgencies was the painless part of a stressful situation and did exactly what they said they’d do.

What do you value the most about USAgencies?
What I value most about USAgencies is the personal service. Even living out of state and not being able to visit the branch, USAgencies has addressed my individual needs when I’ve called. That’s why I won’t switch credit unions.
