Member Moment: Laurie’s Story

Here at USAgencies Credit Union, our biggest priority is your financial wellness, and that includes keeping you and your money safe! Our member, Laurie, shared her experience on how we made a stressful situation painless.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and lived there most of my life until six months ago when my husband and I moved to Nevada.

Your passion.
My passions are family and exploration. I love traveling and seeing new sites. As much as I love having new areas to explore in our backyard now that we’ve moved, we miss family and friends.

What is your favorite USAgencies’ moment as a member?
I’ve been pleased with every interaction I’ve had with USAgencies from day to day banking to getting car loans and getting financial info together for home loans. My favorite moment was the way USAgencies treated me when my debit card number was stolen years ago. USAgencies was the painless part of a stressful situation and did exactly what they said they’d do.

What do you value the most about USAgencies?
What I value most about USAgencies is the personal service. Even living out of state and not being able to visit the branch, USAgencies has addressed my individual needs when I’ve called. That’s why I won’t switch credit unions.

Thanks Laurie for sharing your story and your adorable furrends.

Member Moment: Tejan’s Story

At USAgencies, not only are we passionate about providing solutions to improve each member’s financial life, we also want to make our members’ experience easy and smooth in every encounter.

Our member, Tejan, kindly shared his Member Moment here at USAgencies!

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am a father of 3 lovely kids – family man , a banker and  a Libra.

What is your passion?
I am passionate about volunteering in my local community with my kids. You will find us almost every weekend at some volunteer event with Reach CDC, the children’s book bank or others.

What is your favorite USAgencies’ moment as a member?
I had gone into the branch having lost my wallet, I needed to withdraw money to be able to process a new id and they made it easy for me to have access to monies in my account after asking just a few questions to identify me.

I also love the personal touch I get whenever I call in to ask a question or request a service, the staff are very friendly and as soon as I mention my name they know who I am and are very patient.

I have referred my family and friends and will keep being one of your biggest advocates.

What do you value the most about USAgencies?
I can list 10 – The simplicity of its financial solutions, its genuine passion to help members and the non pushy sales ethics.

Thank you so much for sharing your story, Tejan!

Member Moment : Ria’s USAgencies Credit Union Story

Before we were USAgencies Credit Union, we were Portland Federal Employees Credit Union. Established in 1936, 45 founding members came together with the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People” to form a financial cooperative that could help federal employees with better banking solutions. We are proud to say, that 83 years later we are still living up to our original mission – to provide solutions to improve each member’s financial life.

This was made very clear to us when Ria, a member since 1997,  reached out to us and let us know just how impactful we have been to her and those she cares for over the years, especially during the most recent government shutdown. “I know what it meant to my civil servant co-workers that USAgencies did not throw folks into the cold winter”, she said. “You extended due dates, and made an anxious ridden, scary time bearable. In short, you gave your members peace of mind, which speaks volumes about the integrity of USAgencies, its staff, Board of Directors and Executive Officers”.

Being able to serve Ria over the years, and give her continual exceptional service is something we pride ourselves on. We have always said we will stand by our members, no matter what, and being told we have been true to our word is extremely meaningful. Ria concluded with, “I stayed with you folks because the vibe is, and always has been one of sincere financial caring for your members. That tradition has not waned; it has only grown over the years”.

We strive to be better and do better each and everyday, and are committed to continue to serve Ria, and the rest of our members with integrity and of course, a smile.

Member Moment : Ariel’s USAgencies Credit Union Story

At USAgencies, we understand more than ever that life, it happens. It is impossible to predict and prepare for every hurdle or event that life can throw our way. Which is why we make it a mission to stand by our members during the good, the bad, and the sad. The foundation of credit unions is built upon the philosophy of “People Helping People”, and we do everything we can to live that each and every day.

We were recently reminded by how this philosophy truly impacts our members when we spoke to one of our members about a difficult transition she recently went through. Ariel, who lost her husband earlier this year, reached out to let us know how USAgencies was there for her every step of the way. “When my husband passed, a lot of changes happened. Due to that, a payment we received was removed from our account. So not only was I a recent widow, I was beyond broke”, she said. “USAgencies understood this was beyond my control. They worked with me, they were patient, and did not pressure me”.

She went on to add, “I realized this credit union is built on heart, and take care of their own. I truly appreciate that I can rely on them, and trust that they have my best interest at heart”.  Being there for Ariel is something we would never think twice about. As she said, it is instilled in our core values to serve our members with not just integrity, but trustworthiness as well.

Ariel parted with, “I am so grateful for their support during the hardest time of my life”. Our Mission Statement here at USAgencies Credit Union is, ” We provide solutions to improve each member’s financial life”, and that is something we are proud to stand by day by day, with every member.

Member Moment : Karen’s Auto Solution Story

Karen.

Going to the car dealership can be stressful. From dealing with the salesperson, to negotiating, and just about everything in between. It is hard, and honestly can be a bit scary. Which is why USAgencies Credit Union partners with Auto Solution, a trusted local auto broker. They are knowledgeable auto consultants who will find the car of your dreams… and you don’t even have to leave the house.

Recently Karen, USAgencies’ member since 1979, used Auto Solution for her first time after talking to her loan officer. Can you guess what she loved most about her experience? You guessed it, not going to the dealership! “My favorite part was not having to go play the game with the sales people. They are just so annoying, and pushy and talk you into things that you don’t really want to do.”

Karen was kept informed every step of the way by Auto Solution, and not only did they get her a great deal on her new car, they also helped her trade in her old vehicle. “I feel that anyone who uses Auto Solution could benefit from their service. Well worth it. Just stay at home, let them negotiate for you, then deliver your new car to your door. Does it get any better than that?!”

Auto Solution is our trusted auto broker with 25 years of industry experience. Between now and Dec 22nd, purchase a vehicle with Auto Solution, and finance with us, and they’ll donate a bike to a local child in need. Learn more.

Chandra with her 2015 Dodge Journey.

Longtime member Chandra Wilson has been with USAgencies Credit Union for twenty years. She first became a member in April of 1996–the same year as the Macarena, Tickle Me Elmo and the start of Oprah’s Book Club. Mariah Carey & Celine Dion topped the charts and Independence Day was #1 in the box office. In other words… it was a long time ago.

In Chandra’s history with USACU, she’s gone to us for “three or four” car loans… and she thought of us for her most recent auto loan. We asked her to share her car buying experience with us and she happily obliged:

Q. How was the loan application process for you?
A. The loan process is stress-free! That’s why I always use the CU. The loan team has always been supportive. They always are willing to work with me, and do what they can to accommodate my wishes!

Q. What made you decide to go with an Enterprise Car Sales vehicle?
A. I chose to go with Enterprise for a couple of reasons. 1. I felt the company would have reliable cars in excellent condition, and 2. I like to partner with partners who partner with the CU. Justin and the Sales Manager were a pleasure to work with.

Q. What’s your favorite thing about your new car?
A. I love the space, and that is it fitting to my lifestyle! I’m a soccer mom, and need extra seating, and space for equipment! And it has several “secret compartments”!!

Q. How do you feel knowing that we’ll be donating $100 to the Oregon Food Bank by purchasing an Enterprise Car Sales vehicle during our Drive Away Hunger Car Sale?
A. I feel happy, and blessed to be part of an important cause!

Thanks for sharing your experience, Chandra! We’re so happy we could help you find a great deal on a car and give back to the community, all in one.

If you have questions about Enterprise, or our Car Sale, give us a call (503-275-0300), shoot us an email, or just stop by. We’d love to talk!
