Member Moment: Chase’s Story

In the old days of the internet, only corporate banks could afford streamline online banking services. These days, we’re living in a world where internet is everywhere, the services you use every day to manage your money like checking balances, transferring money and paying bills are just a few simple clicks or taps away. It’s easier than ever to access USAgencies Credit Union from distance away.

Our member, Chase, would like to share his thoughts on how USAgencies feels so local even when we are on the opposite side of the globe.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am a 36 professional pursuing a career with the National Park Service (NPS), Golden Gate National Recreation Area, San Francisco California. My wife and I enjoy the Bay Area and love to explore the variety of cultures and foods. We have a 2 year old Husky named TOGO with lots of energy; he keeps us active and on our toes, lol!

Your Passion
I personally have a passion to pursue my higher education to PhD in the fields of business, technology, and human factors psychology. My wife and I possess passion and goal to open our own business specifically Thai cuisine as she is from Thailand. We love to travel experiencing other cultures and have visited Japan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Malaysia. Future trips we would love to explore together include Spain, Italy, Greece, Egypt, England, and Germany.

What is your favorite USAgencies’ moment as a member?
From the moment I opened an account to present the professionalism and quality of customer care USAgencies Credit Union (USACU) has provided is second to none. While traveling the United States and overseas USACU has been there to answer questions and provide support, reducing financial concerns while on the road and in the air. Second, when I require completion of international transactions (wire transfers) USACU has provided support that is easy and efficient. Finally, USACU and their staff provides world class support through Portland OR branch and with a variety of participating partnered branches.

What do you value the most about USAgencies?
I value most, the dedication to customer support, continued efforts to streamline business and process while maintaining quality, and how my experiences with USACU still feels like a local credit union even when I am across the country or somewhere traveling the globe.

Member Moment: Ryan’s Story

At USAgencies Credit Union, not only do we provide highly personalized service to our members, we are also on constant lookout for our members’ financial life. Which includes staying on top of any unusual activities in members’ accounts. Our member, Ryan, would love to share his member moment on why he wouldn’t switch banks for anything.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Between battling clinical depression and Dyspraxia as a kid, it was tough growing up. However, despite all of those setbacks, I am now a successful adult!

I work as a security guard, I have an amazing girlfriend and a lovely apartment. I enjoy video games, mainly survival horror games. I also enjoy to draw and have gotten decent at it!

What is your favorite USAgencies’ moment as a member?
I started using USACU when I was a young man, mostly because my father is a member. I wouldn’t switch banks for anything. The staff is always helpful and friendly, they warn me instantly if there is any odd activity on my account and their mobile banking is divine!

Overall I am very happy with USACU and I always recommend it to whoever will listen!

Finally, I want to add that no matter where you are in life, no matter how low you may feel, there will be an ending to it and you will have your day! I know that’s kinda clichè to say, but there are good people out there willing to help (Even in the banking world)!

We’re greatly inspired by your story Ryan! And thank you for sharing the stunning photo.

Member Moment: Dave’s Story

At USAgencies Credit Union, our members are always greeted with a smile and a team who is ready to help, because every member is part of the family. Not only are we truly invested in our members’ financial wellness, we also strive to go the extra mile to make sure our members are well taken care of. Our member, Dave, would like to tell you why he’d be a part of the family for life!

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I grew up in Portland in the 60s and 70s, in St. Johns specifically. It was a great time! Back then we all needed a cause to get behind and we all found one of some kind. I ended up serving in US Navy for three years. After my tour of duty, I came home and went on to college, which was fantastic for me! Then job opportunities took me to another state, but with my childhood memories, my heart has always remained in Portland. I love to travel and come back to the Northwest often. I have always enjoyed visiting with people and getting to know them and listening to their struggles and successes. In addition to my career I discovered a great love for teaching. I have been an Adjunct Instructor at a local university near my home for the 21 years. I have found that when you look deeply for the best in others, you will always find the best in yourself.

What is your favorite USAgencies’ moment as a member?
Everytime I call USACU with a question or transaction it’s always been an outstanding experience. One time I called with a question and the individual helping me went completely out of their way to assist me. I remember at the end of the call, they gave me several options how to contact them if I had more questions. I was so impressed when they called me back to follow up on my situation. I was shocked and surprised! Before the call was over I asked their name and what they did at credit union? The gentlemen on the phone told me his name was Jim Lumpkin and that he was the President and CEO. I just about fell off my chair! 🙂 I couldn’t believe that the President and CEO took the time to personally help me out. Ever since then, I told myself I’m a USACU member for life.

Also, Callie and her crew, in the loan department, have always been wonderful! They have been a fantastic source of knowledge and advice. I have had several loans and they have all been timely and with great terms and conditions. Callie and her crew were so helpful with my Son. He had never had a car loan before and needed to get one. I called Callie and she helped him set up an account and qualified him for a loan (turned out his credit was great.) I appreciated Callie’s efforts because it allowed him to continue to build his own credit history.

USACU is not just a credit union, but a great financial partner. USACU ROCKS!

Thank you Dave for sharing your story! We’re glad to be a part of you and your family’s financial journey.

Member Moment: Anne’s Story

Did you know your credit union is part of a history that began back in the 19th century? The principles of service to members, acting in the community’s best interest and being responsive to members’ needs have only grown over the past century in the U.S. Here at USAgencies Credit Union, we’re proud to join the chain of institutions committed to the credit union mission. As a member-owned cooperative, our only goal is your financial success.

Our member, Anne, shared how her values align with the credit union philosophy of “people helping people”.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I worked for the Federal government for most of my career in four locations in Oregon. The Forest Service was mostly very good for me. It helped me learn a lot, grow and travel. I helped employees learn new computer programs and solve problems using computers. I joined a credit union early in my career and was happy to continue that choice. I raised my daughter as a single parent and I appreciated the support from the Forest Service. I’m very proud that my daughter earned a PhD. At the end of my career, I was one of twelve people nationally in the Forest Service to provide an avenue for employees to request computer solutions for their professional issues.

Your Passion
My passion is helping people and learning. That’s why my career fit me so well. I think credit unions are a good match also because they share these same values.

What is your favorite USAgencies’ moment as a member?
I appreciated the seminars from USACU that provided great information and helped me prepare for retirement. It was fun when USACU would come to the office and give us cookies. We could meet employees, ask questions and I got to be good friends with one very nice employee. I even participated in a panel which gave me more knowledge about USACU.

What do you value the most about USAgencies?
I value USACU because it is a credit union. I deeply appreciate that it is not run for shareholders who don’t care about the way the business operates. Banks want to maximize return no matter the cost to individual clients. My prejudice is that credit unions make decisions with members in mind. USACU is local which is important to me.

Thank you Anne for sharing your values, we appreciate you!
