Thank A Veteran

#ThankAVeteran #MemorialDay

Our staff and members have been having some time out to capture a #selfie to “Thank A Veteran” or honor someone for Memorial Day.

Take a look at our social media feeds over the last few days – fun, huh?

You can get involved too! Here’s how:

  • Print a #ThankAVeteran or #MemorialDay sign and take some selfies too! Post them to your social media account and tag then with the corresponding hashtag. Include #USACU or #USAgenciesCU and we’ll be able to find and share them too!

Rose Festival Fleet Week

USACU Hosts a Booth, June 5th – 7th

Isn’t it the best time of year in Portland, OR? Our backyard here in downtown is transformed with music, food, and all sorts of events during The Rose Festival.

This year we are jumping aboard and hosting a booth in honor of Fleet Week. We’ll be camped out near the entrance to the ship tours from 10am – 4pm Friday, June 5th – Sunday, June 7th just north of the Burnside Bridge near NW Couch. Stop by our booth for a photo op, free gifts, and just to say “hi.” Then take a tour on one or more of the many ships that will be docked along the waterfront.

Learn more about Fleet Week and we hope to see you there!

“Loyal to this outfit”

A story from our member, Phil

It’s always a happy day at USAgencies when we get feedback like this. We just had to share this story from Phil, a member who is “loyal to this outfit”…

Way back when Phil opened his membership he allocated some of his VA funds here into a checking account….. and then ignored it, for years. After a handsome sum ($10K+) accumulated, a USACU employee reached out to him to offer some other solutions for earning a better rate. We offered a CD and set it all up for him.

This above and beyond effort, although a simple action that we do all the time for our members, really stuck with Phil. He called in just this week to tell us that he appreciates all we do for him.

“You guys manage the money; I just manage things so they don’t bounce,” he said.

Phil explained that we should be proud of the staff working here. “They’ve been kind and patient with me over the years. It’s with their voice and actions that they make me loyal to this outfit,” and he’s grateful.

Phil, you probably won’t ever read this, as you proclaim to be “off the grid,” but we sure appreciate YOU, your kind words, and your loyalty to this outfit at USAgencies. We’re proud to call you our member, sir.

Mortgage Moment : Waylon Bowers & Family

Members since 2009. Residents of Bend, Oregon. Completed mortgage loan with USAgencies in 2014.

With relocation from North Carolina to Bend, Oregon on the horizon, Waylon reached out to Steven Raymond, our VP of Residential Lending.

“I thought this would be complicated from across the country, but with scanning and sending documents electronically, plus all the closing cost credits Steven secured, it was professional, cost-effective, and very smooth. I plan to use USAgencies for a mortgage again, should I need one.”

Giving Thanks

We (our members, staff, volunteers, and business partners), made a tremendous impact this holiday season.

TOY DRIVE SUCCESS
USAgencies had the privilege of participating in the KGW Great Toy Drive again this year. We reached out to our members, the buildings we serve, and our business partners to get everyone involved and then the credit union matched each donation, toy for toy. It was a huge success with over 360 toys donated, benefiting 130 non-profits that KGW works with.

All the toys were delivered to the KGW Studios by our friends Portland Pedal Power via bicycle.

It was such a fun experience for all of our team and for Portland Pedal Power.

Take a look at the gallery of photos from the delivery day back in December.

Many thanks for all who helped make this effort a success.

SKIP-A-PAYMENT FEES FOR LOCAL KIDS
For the months of November and December, we gathered Skip-a-Payment Fees from members who were taking a break from their USAgencies loan for the holidays. Each $20 fee was set aside for Credit Unions for Kids, benefiting Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. Many members even donated above and beyond the fee amount, giving us a grand total donation of $1,510. Amazing!
